Privacy policy
Updated for 2026. This page explains what data loonr.nl uses, why, and what your rights are. We keep it short and honest.
Who is responsible
loonr.nl is run by Saeid Ben Amar, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He is the controller for the personal data described here. You can reach him through the contact form.
Your salary stays on your device
All calculations run in your own browser. What you type, such as your gross pay, hours or age, is never sent to our server.
To save you typing, your last inputs are kept in your browser's localStorage. That data stays on your device. You can remove it at any time with the "Clear my data" link in the footer of every page, or by clearing your browser data.
Usage counts
We count how often each calculator is used per day. We store only the number, the calculator and the language. No IP address, no device details, nothing that points to you.
Contact form
When you send a message, we store:
- your name, email address and message;
- a one-way hashed version of your IP address (sha256 with a secret salt). It cannot be turned back into your IP address. We use it only to stop spam and abuse. We never store the raw IP address.
We use this data only to answer you. Messages are deleted after at most 12 months. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling your question.
Cookies we set ourselves
We set one functional session cookie, and only on the contact form (as a security token) and in the admin area. The calculators and other pages do not need it.
Server logs
Like every website, our web server keeps standard access logs for security, for example to detect attacks. These logs are kept for a short time. The site is hosted in the European Union.
Advertising and analytics
loonr is free because it shows ads from Google AdSense. If switched on, Google Analytics helps us see which pages are visited. Both use cookies and similar technology.
Visitors in the EEA and the UK first see a consent message from a Google-certified consent platform (CMP). Advertising and analytics cookies are only placed after you agree. You can change your choice at any time through "Privacy and cookie settings" in the footer. Read more on our cookies page.
Google acts under its own privacy policy for the data it processes for ads.
Fonts
Our fonts are hosted on our own server. Your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other font service.
Your rights
Under the GDPR (in Dutch: AVG) you have the right to:
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- object to or limit how we use it;
- receive your data in a usable format.
Send your request through the contact form. We reply within a few working days, and in any case within one month.
Not happy with how we handled your data? You can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If the site starts doing something new with data, we update this page first.
